Internet4Change
is about learning to connect people in offline communities with the global
resources for local social change that are available online today.
i4c's Webbed Empowerment (WE) strategies for individuals & grassroots organizations
have been developed and tested by i4c
learning teams of Internet novices at the Life in Africa
WE Center in Kampala, Uganda.
With i4c, we foresee many ways
in which grassroots
communities can collaborate for accelerating change in Africa at some of
today's dynamic online platforms. In fact, we've been discussing new forms
of online and offline collaboration with Ashoka Fellows and other
potential partner communities in Uganda for some time. Finally, the time
to get started has arrived!
Ugandan community based
organizations are now invited to join Life in Africa in forming a self
governed WE Network of innovative community endeavors that are
interconnected online. Simple, easy to implement Internet4Change
strategies can enable our community members to more easily collaborate
with each other, and can also leverage all of our voices effectively in
the new grassroots markets for global change that are emerging in the
digital world. |
