A key element of the i4c program planned for 2005 is the
training and certification of Agents to provide online services for people in
Africa who do not know how to use the Internet.
More than just an ordinary website designer, an i4c Agent
has training and insight into the local development needs of the African
clients they serve. As the Life in Africa
Network introduces new tools and resources for self-help in Africa online,
i4c Agents will plug their clients in to these new opportunities, for
fees their clients can afford.
The network of independent i4c Agents we aim to train will
work cooperatively to generate international exposure and
reportable development results for their LiA Network activities. They
will also be encouraged to generate sustainable income from providing
internet-related services that are tailored to the offline poor.
